“I am a hard working single mother who has been down on her luck for the last couple of years, and given the current economy it has been a struggle to provide a home, shelter, clothing, childcare and food. At times, it has been extremely rough for my 5 year old daughter and I. These hardships however have brought us closer together and made me a better parent and a better person having gone through them. We are finally just getting back on our feet with me getting a full time job & getting ready to move within a month to our own place! But financially, it is still a struggle and I don’t know how it will all come together at this point. The reason I think I would make a good candidate to win this prize is because through all the hardship and trials I am still a responsible, caring individual and I would take great care of anything given to me (proof of that in my daughter). I would be eternally grateful and so overjoyed! Thank you.”
